Who We Are Looking For:

We’re searching for a highly skilled Commercial Construction Estimator to join our growing team. The right candidate is a problem-solver who can break down complex scopes, negotiate pricing, and deliver precise, timely estimates for projects of varying size and complexity. You should have a strong understanding of commercial building systems, subcontractor outreach, and cost analysis. What You’ll Do:

  • Complete vetting questions
  • Attend Pre-Bid Meetings & take pre-construction photos as needed
  • Create Estimating Folder on Shared Drive
  • Create Master Vendor List
  • Create & send Invitation to Bid 
  • Order plans
  • Review all drawings & specifications 
  • Submit for Builder’s Risk Insurance, Bid Bonds, and COIs when needed
  • Complete follow-up e-mails, calls, & texts to solicit bids from subcontractors
  • Create & manage Big Overall Schedule of Values
  • Complete all necessary Take-Offs
  • Compile & complete all forms required for Bid Submission
  • This includes forms to be completed by the insurance company, bond company, and DBE/WBE/MBE requirements
  • Create & manage Bid Tally & Scope Sheets
  • Create Bid Envelope
  • Manage Bid Day responsibilities for your projects
  • This includes utilization of Google Docs 
  • Coordinate someone to submit bid packet for in-person bid submission
  • For on-line submission, be comfortable with on-line submission requirements
  • Compile Post Bid Information
  • Create Job Books
  • Facilitate 48hr Meetings & Turnover Meetings with Production
  • This includes inputting the budget & creating the Buyout/Bust Sheet
  • Prepare Subcontracts & Subcontract Templates
  • Set Up New Job in Master Builder
  • Submit In-Person Bids as needed
  • Estimating Bid Call
  • Estimating L10 Meeting
  • Partner with Project Managers to answer project questions
  • Complete Estimator Job Walks
  • Review Project Change Orders from Project Managers

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating, preferably with ground-up and renovation projects.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scope documents.
  • Proven experience preparing detailed quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and competitive bids.
  • Solid understanding of commercial building systems, subcontractor trades, and current market pricing.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple bids, meet deadlines, and stay organized under pressure.
  • Proficiency in performing estimate take-offs.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills to ensure accurate and reliable cost assessments.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to clearly present estimates, assumptions, and value-engineering ideas.
