Position Description

General Purpose: This position is designed to provide hands-on experience in regulatory compliance, hazard identification, and safety program development. This role provides foundational exposure to commercial construction safety operations while contributing to a culture of health and risk prevention.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Support routine job site walkthroughs to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  2. Record findings from inspections and audits, helping maintain accurate safety logs and reports.
  3. Help gather information and prepare documentation related to workplace incidents or near misses.
  4. Attend toolbox talks and safety briefings to observe communication practices and contribute to safety discussions.
  5. Assist in maintaining training records and compliance documentation in accordance with company standards.
  6. Stay informed on OSHA standards and industry trends to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  7. Assist in rolling out new safety initiatives, policies, or technologies under the guidance of Senior Safety Manager.
Position Requirements

Travel: This position may require travel of up to 50% of the time.

 

Education and/or Experience: This position requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position requires active enrollment in an occupational safety or other related degree program.

 

Language Skills: This position requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

Mathematical Skills: This position requires the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability: This position requires the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
