Renovation Project Manager Job Description Overview The Renovation Project Manager oversees renovation projects, ensuring contractors deliver high-quality work on time and within budget. They are responsible for inspecting contractor performance, verifying compliance with project specifications, and approving payments upon satisfactory completion. Key Responsibilities Project Oversight: Manage all phases of renovation projects, including planning, execution, and completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Contractor Supervision: Monitor contractors' work to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, safety regulations, and building codes. Quality Control: Conduct regular site inspections to verify the quality of workmanship, materials, and adherence to design requirements. Payment Approval: Review contractor invoices, verify completed work against contractual agreements, and authorize payments upon satisfactory performance. Coordination: Liaise between contractors, clients, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and project alignment. Issue Resolution: Identify and address any issues or discrepancies in contractor work, coordinating solutions to maintain project progress. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project progress, inspections, and payment approvals, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and compliant. Budget Management: Track project expenses and ensure contractors adhere to agreed-upon budgets, reporting any deviations to stakeholders. Safety Compliance: Ensure all contractor activities comply with safety standards and regulations, addressing any violations immediately. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory). Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction or renovation project management, with a focus on contractor oversight. Skills: Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and building codes. Excellent project management and organizational skills. Attention to detail and ability to assess quality of work. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with contractors and stakeholders. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, or similar). Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and specifications. Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional), CCM (Certified Construction Manager), or similar certifications are a plus.
