Kentucky Chamber of Commerce - Kentucky Sales Tax Webinar
Join the Kentucky Chamber and its partners for a preview and panel discussion of a NEW forthcoming report from the Tax Foundation focused on the economic impacts of including business purchases in Kentucky’s sales tax base. As Kentucky looks to lower income taxes and increase its reliance on consumption-based taxes to support economic growth, this new report will offer critical guidance to policymakers and stakeholders on how to ensure a competitive sales tax base that taxes consumption and not production.
Panelists will include:
• Katherine Loughead, Senior Policy Analyst with the Center for State Tax Policy at the Tax Foundation and lead author of the new forthcoming report
• Mark F. Sommer, Practice Group Leader of the Tax, Benefits and Estates Practice Group at Frost Brown Todd, LLP
• Charles Aull, Executive Director of the Kentucky Chamber Center for Policy and Research
Jacqueline Pitts, Senior Vice President of Communications and Marketing at the Kentucky Chamber, will moderate the discussion.
The Kentucky Chamber partnered with Commerce Lexington Inc., Greater Louisville Inc., and the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce in support of this project by the Tax Foundation. The Tax Foundation is a nonpartisan research organization and leading voice on pro-growth tax reform. In 2021, with support from the Kentucky Chamber, the Tax Foundation produced a major report on tax reform in Kentucky, which helped set the stage for tax reform legislation in the 2022 legislative session. This new forthcoming report builds on that work and seeks to inform continuing discussions of pro-growth tax reform in the Commonwealth.
