Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Interior Supervisor, the Interior Lead is responsible for assisting in the overall supervision and daily operations of the interior shop. This role provides hands-on leadership, ensures production efficiency, maintains quality standards, and directly supervises employees in the absence of the Interior Supervisor. The Interior Lead plays a key role in training, coaching, and developing team members while fostering a productive and safe work environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Assist in supervising daily workflow and employee performance in the interior shop
  • Provide leadership and direction to team members to ensure productivity and quality standards are met
  • Train, coach, and mentor employees, including new hires and cross-training existing staff
  • Assist with employee placement, scheduling, and task assignments
  • Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and shop standards
  • Conduct quality checks and ensure adherence to production specifications
  • Oversee start-up and shutdown procedures
  • Manage shop operations in the absence of the Interior Supervisor
  • Identify and eliminate production bottlenecks to improve efficiency
  • Verify materials on each order prior to production
  • Perform quality checks on all completed products
  • Ensure on-time completion of all projects and production goals
  • Communicate daily production goals and start/stop times as directed
  • Step in to operate machinery or assist on assembly lines as needed
  • Monitor workflow and adjust staffing or processes to meet demands
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills in manufacturing or warehouse setting
  • Strong communication and team-building abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of tools and door machinery
  • Thorough understanding of all interior products
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to motivate and hold team members accountable
  • Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing principles preferred

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or lumber yard environment preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on production experience
  • Experience working with door assembly or similar products strongly preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently
  • Ability to stand on concrete floors for up to 12-hour shifts
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
